Algerian Ambassador Abdelhamid Boubazine: "I will make great efforts to promote the traditional friendship and cooperation between Algeria and Vietnam"
On the morning of June 28, in Hanoi, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga - President of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Vietnam (VUFO) received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria in Vietnam, S.E.M. Abdelhamid Boubazine for a courtesy visit when taking up his new position in Vietnam.
During the meeting, Ambassador Abdelhamid Boubazine thanked the President of VUFO, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Nga for her warm welcome and fully appreciated the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and Algeria. Ambassador Abdelhamid Boubazine in particular expressed his most sincere thanks to the Vietnamese government and people for always standing alongside the Algerian people in the struggle for national independence. Vietnam was one of the first countries to recognize the Provisional Government of the Algerian Republic on September 26, 1958 and shortly after Algeria's independence in 1962, Vietnam opened an Embassy in the capital Algiers.
Belonging to the older generation who witnessed the resilient struggle of the Algerian people as well as the help of the Vietnamese government and people, Mr. Abdelhamid Boubazine feels very honored and proud to be assigned to Vietnam as a Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria. The Ambassador affirmed that during his tenure, he will endeavor to promote and strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation between Algeria and Vietnam. At the same time, he also hoped to receive help and good coordination from the Union of Vietnam Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam-Algeria Friendship Association to implement friendship activities and strengthen mutual understanding.
Ambassador Abdelhamid Boubazine expressed his pleasure to witness Vietnam's great development over the years. "A country, we can say, has gone from 'zero', has now become a model of economic development, social security...for many other countries to follow suit." He also expressed his belief that Vietnam will achieve its goal of becoming a high-income developed country by 2045.
On this occasion, the President of the Union of Vietnam Friendship Organizations, Nguyen Phuong Nga, expressed her wishes to Ambassador Abdelhamid Boubazine for a fruitful mandate, continuing to promote and further develop good cooperation between the two countries.
Believing that Vietnam and Algeria have a good traditional friendship, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga also thanked the Algerian people's help to the Vietnamese people in the past as well as Algeria's current support to Vietnam during multilateral and international forums. Vietnam attaches great importance to the development of relations with Algeria - a large country with prestige and an important role in the African region.
Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga affirmed that the Union of Vietnam Friendship Organizations will actively cooperate with the Embassy of Algeria in Vietnam to organize people-to-people exchange activities such as seminars, conferences, exchanges cultural and artistic events commemorating significant events of the two countries, especially in 2022, when the two countries will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, aimed at enhancing mutual understanding and promoting cooperation between the peoples of the two countries.
The President of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Vietnam welcomed the effective coordination between the Embassy of Algeria and the Association of Friendship Vietnam - Algeria in the organization of friendship activities and cooperation aimed at promoting friendly relations and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
