On May 26, 2022, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Construction, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi had a meeting with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Algerian Community Abroad Mr. Chakib Rachid Kaid to discuss a number of content to be prepared for the organization of the 12th session of the Vietnam-Algeria Joint Commission and measures to further strengthen cooperation relations between the two countries.

During the meeting, Secretary General Chakib Rachid Kaid expressed his joy for the warm welcome from the Ministry of Construction and said that Vietnam and Algeria have maintained traditional friendly relations over the past decades, and shared common ties in the struggle for freedom, national independence, integrity and sovereignty of the country. Algerians have special attachments and affections for the Vietnamese people and in particular have always considered President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap as national heroes of the Algerian people.

According to Secretary General Chakib Rachid Kaid, the two countries are celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, so the 12th session of the Algerian-Vietnamese Joint Commission is of particular importance in strengthening and deepening traditional relations. and friendships between the two countries.

Speaking the words of welcome to Secretary General Chakib Rachid Kaid on a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Construction, Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi stressed: Vietnam attaches great importance to the traditional and friendly cooperation relationship with Algeria. In recent years, as the Permanent Agency of Vietnam within the Vietnam - Algeria Joint Commission, the Ministry of Construction has always been careful to promote cooperative relations between the Governments and peoples of the two countries, and in at the same time to actively urge the parties concerned to speed up the implementation of the agreements signed during the 11th session of the Vietnam-Algeria Joint Commission.

Currently, the Ministry of Construction has completed the draft content to be prepared for the 12th session of the Vietnam-Algeria Joint Commission and sent it to the relevant ministries and departments for opinion contributions; it will then be forwarded to the Permanent Agency of Algeria within the Algeria-Vietnam Mixed Commission, through the Algerian Embassy in Vietnam. The 12th session is scheduled to be held in the fourth quarter of 2022 in Hanoi. During this meeting, the two sides will jointly review, evaluate and sum up the implementation of the agreements signed in the previous meeting, discuss and further expand the cooperative relationship in the coming time.

Minister Nguyen Thanh Nghi and Secretary General Chakib Rachid Kaid expressed their confidence in the meticulous preparation of the two parties for the organization of the 12th session of the Algerian-Vietnamese Joint Commission which will take place on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. This will be an important milestone that marks the friendship and good tradition of cooperation between the governments and peoples of the two countries.
