Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son receives Ambassador of Algeria at end of term

On April 19, at the ministry's headquarters, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic and People's Republic of Algeria Abdelhamid Boubazine to say goodbye to him at the end of his mandate.

 

During the reception, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son congratulated the ambassador for successfully completing his term in Vietnam; affirmed that the positive contributions of the ambassador contributed to strengthening the good cooperative relations between Vietnam and Algeria.

 

 


Minister Bui Thanh Son recognized the positive development of cooperative relations between the two countries, including the effective and substantive implementation of bilateral cooperation mechanisms after a long period of interruption; Trade and investment cooperation has made obvious progress, in which bilateral trade turnover increased by 67% in 2023 compared to 2022.

 

The minister also stressed that he always appreciates the solidarity and mutual support of the Vietnamese and Algerian people throughout the process of struggle for independence, national liberation in the past and country building today.

 

On this occasion, the minister presented a number of major axes and hoped that the Algerian embassy in Hanoi would continue to coordinate and promote cooperation in the times to come, in particular the exchange of delegations to all levels, particularly high level; to continue to coordinate closely in multilateral forums; to organize more cultural and people-to-people exchange activities; to Expand economic and trade cooperation and continue to create favorable conditions for investment businesses of the two countries.

 

The minister affirmed that the mutual good feelings of the people of the two countries constitute a solid foundation for Vietnam-Algeria relations, suggesting that the two sides focus on cooperative activities, cultural exchanges and people-to-people exchanges to maintain and cultivate this increasingly close relationship.
