Mr. Laïd Rebiga attends funeral of Secretary General of Central Committee of Communist Party of Vietnam in Hanoi

Representing the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Minister of Mujahideen and Dependents, Mr. Laïd Rebiga, will attend the funeral of the Secretary General (SG) of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), Nguyen Phu Trong, on July 25 and 26 in Hanoi (Vietnam), a press release from the ministry said on Thursday.

The minister "met with the Vietnamese President, Mr. To Lam, to whom he conveyed the message of condolences addressed by the President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, conveying his fraternal greetings and his feelings of compassion and solidarity with the friendly Vietnamese people in this painful ordeal," the press release said.

During the meeting, the Vietnamese President "thanked the message of condolences and expressed his gratitude for the decision of the President of the Republic to dispatch the Minister of Mujahideen and Dependents to represent him at the funeral", stressing that this gesture "reflects the quality of the historical relations between the two countries".

The Vietnamese President also "called for the development of bilateral cooperation between the two countries to raise it to the level of the potential and quality of the historical relations between Algeria and Vietnam".

According to the statement, Mr. Rebiga and the accompanying delegation "will attend the funeral of the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which will take place on July 25 and 26, 2024 at the National Funeral Home in Hanoi, in the presence of leaders and senior officials from several countries".
