The Armorial bearings of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria present in the form a circumference comprising outside the following inscription in Arab language: Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria

And inside following symbols:

In the top, the sun rising on a mountain,

In the center, a symmetrical hand of metalwork around the major finger, three plain central fingers, two fingers of the ends finished in nozzle of dove carrying an olive branch,
In bottom, the crescent and the star,

On right-hand side, the surmounted ballot box of three ears differentiated and sheets from oak,
And on the left, a branch of olive-tree with fruits, superimposed of a palm and surmounted roofs and factory chimneys and oil-well derricks.
