Petrovietnam Director General Le Ngoc Son receives Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam
On September 10, General Manager of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) Le Ngoc Son had a reception and working session with Mr. Sofiane Chaib, Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to Vietnam.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Hoang Xuan Duong, Deputy General Manager of Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (PVEP) and Representatives of the Group's Directorates/Offices.

On behalf of the Group's leadership, Petrovietnam General Manager Le Ngoc Son congratulated Mr. Sofiane Chaib on his new term as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Algeria to Vietnam and expressed his belief that in his new position, the Ambassador will play a very important role as a bridge of friendship that provides useful support and assistance to strengthen the friendly cooperation relations between Vietnam and Algeria in general, as well as cooperation in the oil and gas energy sector between the two countries in particular.

At the meeting, General Manager Le Ngoc Son briefed the Ambassador on the overview of the Group's activities and the results of cooperation in the field of oil and gas research, exploration and exploitation between Petrovietnam and Algerian oil group (Sonatrach) as well as a number of related activities. Petrovietnam Director General Le Ngoc Son stressed that the oil, gas and energy sectors in general play an important and key role in the friendly cooperative relations between Vietnam and Algeria over the past 60 years. In recent years, Petrovietnam and its member units have actively coordinated and cooperated closely with Sonatrach in particular and Algerian companies in general. In particular, the Bir Seba project, a cooperation project between Petrovietnam/PVEP and Sonatrach, has been operating efficiently in recent years, bringing benefits to the participating parties. In particular, it is also a symbol of the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Algeria in the field of oil and gas. Through this meeting, Petrovietnam leaders hope that the ambassador will continue to pay attention to and support Petrovietnam/PVEP in implementing oil and gas projects in the coming time.
Speaking at the reception, Ambassador Sofiane Chaib affirmed that the successes achieved between Petrovietnam and Sonatrach have contributed to deepening the relations of friendship and cooperation between Algeria and Vietnam over the past 60 years. The Ambassador also expressed his joy at the results of Petrovietnam’s activities in recent years. On this occasion, Ambassador Sofiane Chaib also thanked Petrovietnam/PVEP for accompanying and cooperating with the Algerian Embassy in Vietnam to organize related activities and events within the framework of celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Algeria foreign relations. The Ambassador promised that with his love and responsibility, he would support Petrovietnam and its member units in their expansion and search for investment opportunities in Algeria.
