“THE MAN IN RUBBER SLIPPERS” – WHEN THE STAGE CONNECTS HISTORY AND INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP

On May 16, 2025, the play “The Man in Rubber Slippers” was performed at the Vietnam Drama Theater, leaving a deep impression on the audience. The work by Algerian writer Kateb Yacine, edited and directed by Dr., Associate Professor Le Manh Hung, is an epic about the history of the Vietnamese people's struggle for independence, with the image of President Ho Chi Minh appearing both familiar and of contemporary stature.

 

 

In particular, the performance on May 16th was honored to welcome the guest of honor, Mr. Azeddine Bechka - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic Republic of Algeria and People's Republic of Algeria to Vietnam, affirming the significance of cultural diplomacy and the strong friendship between the two countries.

Along with that was the presence of Ms. Nguyen Phuong Tra - Director of the Middle East - Africa Department - Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam.

 

 

 

With meticulous investment, dedicated artists and a solemn atmosphere, "The Man in Rubber Sandals" is not only a work of art, but also a historical - cultural bridge between Vietnam and Algeria.
