Tribute to Algerian and Vietnamese journalists and crew members who died in 1974

On March 8, the interministerial delegation led by the assistant to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu laid a wreath on the commemorative stone of the 15 Algerian journalists and 7 Vietnamese journalists, 2 diplomats and 3 crew members who died in a plane crash in Soc Son district in 1974.

 

It is an annual activity organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Relations of Hanoi City, the People's Committee of Soc Son District and the Embassy of Algeria in Vietnam to pay tribute to those who sacrificed themselves for the traditional friendly relations between the two countries.

 

Were present at the ceremony the Ambassador of Algeria Abdelhamid Boubazine, the Ambassador of Palestine Saadi Salama - Head of the Diplomatic Corps in Vietnam, representatives of the Ministry of Construction - Chairman of the Vietnamese sub-committee within the Joint Commission Vietnam- Algeria, Union of Vietnam Friendship Organizations, Vietnam – Algeria Friendship Association and Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.

 

 

 

Speaking at the event, Assistant Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Vu spoke highly of the annual organization of the memorial visit activity, seeing it as a symbol of the traditional good friendship between Vietnam and Vietnam. Algeria.

 

He thanked the local government for regularly caring for and preserving the memorial and expressed his wish that the People's Committee of Hanoi City and the People's Committee of Soc Son District continue to provide support so that the memorial can be completed soon. expansion and embellishment project for the area where the commemorative stele is located.

 

For his part, the Ambassador of Algeria to Vietnam, H.E.M. Abdelhamid Boubazine stressed that the tragic event of March 8, 1974 has become a symbol of friendship between the two countries, where the sacrifices and the blood of the two peoples have been blended into One to cultivate a relationship of brotherly friendship.

 

The Ambassador also expressed his emotion at the presence of representatives of many ministries and at the ceremony; he highly appreciated the attention of Vietnamese authorities at all levels, especially the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the People's Committee of Hanoi and the People's Committee of Soc Son District. The ambassador expressed his wish that the embellishment of the memorial be completed in 2023.
