Vietnam-Algeria: Promote cooperation in the fields of trade, gas – oil, labor and agriculture
On the afternoon of May 27, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son received the Secretary General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Chakib Rachid Kaïd, who is visiting Vietnam.
During the meeting with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Algerian Community Abroad, Mr. Chakib Rachid Kaïd, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Bui Thanh Son affirmed that the Party, the State and Vietnamese people always attach great importance to the traditional and loyal relations between Vietnam and Algeria which have been continuously built and nurtured by generations of leaders and peoples of the two countries from the period of the national liberation struggle until nowadays, and at the same time, he expressed his determination to further deepen the good relations of cooperation.
The Vietnamese Minister highly appreciated the results of the 3rd meeting of political consultations between the two Foreign Ministries; expressed his thanks to the Algerian government for always facilitating Vietnam's oil and gas investment project as well as to the Vietnamese community living and working in Algeria.
He stressed that the two foreign ministries should continue to coordinate closely to promote bilateral cooperation, especially in the political - diplomatic and economic fields, in which priority should be given to promoting cooperation in the areas of trade. , oil, labor and agriculture; the organization of the 12th meeting of the Algerian-Vietnamese Joint Commission in the fourth quarter of 2022; close coordination in the organization of political, economic, cultural and sporting activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
As part of this visit, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Algerian Community Abroad Chakib Rachid Kaïd laid a wreath and visited the mausoleum to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh; went to the house of General Vo Nguyen Giap to offer him incense in his memory and paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi, co-chairman of the Joint Vietnamese-Algerian Commission.
