Visiting Laos

In the absence of a Laotian diplomatic representation in Algeria, you may need to contact a travel agency to complete visa processing.

The security situation in Laos is normal, but vigilance is always required.

If you have health problems, it is strongly discouraged to travel to Laos because despite all progress made in health services, hospitals lack materials and medicines, especially in rural areas.

Due to the presence of certain infectious diseases in the region, it is highly recommended to get in touch with the Pasteur Institute of Algeria before departure for the prescription of possible vaccines.

Avoid drinking tap water, opt for mineral water and cooked or boiled food. Protect yourself from insect and mosquitoes bites.

Avoid walking alone at night or in remote areas and make sure to keep your family or friends regularly informed of your movements.

Finally, Algeria does not have a diplomatic mission in Vientiane, the Embassy of Algeria in Hanoi is covering Laos.
