In the afternoon of December 12, at the headquarters of the National Assembly, the Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly H.E. Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai had a working session with the Ambassador of Egypt to Vietnam H.E.Ms. Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama and Algerian Ambassador to Vietnam H.E. Mr. Abdelhamid Boubazine.

During the meeting, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai briefed the two Ambassadors on his visit to Egypt and Algeria from November 25 to December 4. Thus, in Egypt, the Vice-Speaker of the Vietnamese Assembly held talks with the First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Ahmed Saad El-Din, met with the First Deputy Speaker of the Egyptian Senate Bahaa El-Din Abu Shagga and worked with Director General of Investment and Export Processing Zones Authority, worked with Chairman of Suez Canal Economic Zone Authority, paid a working visit to the Vietnamese Embassy and met overseas Vietnamese, students, Vietnamese business representatives in Egypt, visited the port city of Alexandria, the world's largest library and the Museum of Ancient Egyptian Civilizations.

In Algeria, the Vietnamese delegation worked with the Speaker of the Algerian House of Representatives Mr. Ibrahim Boughali, the Presidents of Committees of the House of Representatives (Committee on Foreign Affairs, Committee on the Economy, Committee on Culture and education). The delegation also worked with the President of the Algeria-Vietnam friendship parliamentary group; with the Minister of Energy and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Arkab. In addition, the delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese representative agencies; met with the community of Vietnamese and citizens of Vietnamese origin in Algeria; visited the Algerian Federation of Traditional Martial Arts of Vietnam; the province of Tipaza and local museums and historical sites.

Speaking to Egypt's Ambassador to Vietnam, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai said Vietnam and Egypt share many similarities, especially in areas of climate change response. , management of the water resources of large rivers. In the coming times, the two countries should actively implement solutions to remove obstacles to Egypt's exports to the Vietnamese market, promote business advisory activities to eliminate difficulties and obstacles in the business of import and export business.

Furthermore, the Vice-President of the National Assembly proposed to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation, to plan the organization of the 6th meeting of the Vietnam-Egypt Intergovernmental Committee in the near future, to encourage the business communities of the two countries to strengthen their delegation exchanges, organize trade promotion and investment activities to seek cooperation opportunities, so as to achieve the goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover to 1 billion USD per year.

According to the vice-president of the National Assembly, Vietnam and Egypt should strengthen their cooperation in the fields of tourism, archaeological sciences, conservation of historical relics, promotion of cultural heritages; At the same time, he also wants to promote Egyptian culture in Vietnam and hopes that Egyptian art troupes can come to Vietnam to hold art performances.

The Vice-President of the National Assembly suggested continuing to coordinate closely within the framework of multilateral interparliamentary forums such as the Interparliamentary Union (UIP), the Francophone Parliamentary Union (APF); to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between women parliamentarians of the two countries within the framework of IPU activities; to promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, in particular professional agencies to exchange and acquire experience in the construction of law, e-Assembly, etc.

As for Algeria, the vice-president of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai hoped that the two countries would play the role of a bridge to further develop foreign trade with Africa as well as with ASEAN. At the same time, he asked the Ambassador of Algeria to support Vietnam so that the country can invest more in Algeria, especially in priority areas such as industry, automobile, oil and gas, agriculture and consumer goods.

The Vice President of the National Assembly suggested that the two sides continue to strengthen trade cooperation in the direction of diversifying the structure of goods, expanding the scale and encouraging Algeria to export more to the Vietnamese market, in particular products which Algeria has many advantages such as olive oil, dates in order to reduce trade balance differences; at the same time, to encourage companies from both countries to increase contacts, to meet, to conduct market research, to organize trade promotion activities, in order to seek opportunities for economic cooperation.

The Vice President of the National Assembly also said that Vietnam is willing to cooperate with Algeria in the fields of energy, mining, renewable energies such as wind energy, solar energy, digital transformation and engineering education. The two parties create favorable conditions for granting scholarships to each other's students and employees and cooperate in the study of archiving and exchange of historical documents related to Vietnam and Algeria through the eras.

The Vice-President of the National Assembly stressed that parliamentary cooperation is an important channel to promote cooperation between the two countries, including the very important role of the parliamentary friendship group of the two countries; At the same time, he proposed that the two countries share experiences in building an e-National Assembly, continue to further promote the exchange of delegations at all levels, and encourage Algerian delegations to visit Vietnam. The two parties continue to consult and coordinate closely in multilateral parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU); to coordinate closely in the review and supervision of the implementation of the agreements signed between the governments and ministries of the two countries. 

Congratulating the success of the visit of the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation, Egyptian Ambassador Amal Abdel Kader Elmorsi Salama said that the visit of the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation led by the Vice President of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai left a good and deep impression for Egypt.

Stressing that Egypt has traditional good relations of friendship with Vietnam, the ambassador said that Egyptians particularly respect the fighting spirit of the Vietnamese people to protect and build their country. The Ambassador also said that Egypt would like Vietnam to share and exchange experiences in successfully building new industrial parks and economic zones, and at the same time expand cooperation in all aspects of economy, trade and private investment, education, culture. 

For his part, Ambassador Abdelhamid Boubazine said that Algeria attaches particular importance to parliamentary diplomacy and that cooperation and exchange of delegations between Vietnam and Algeria have become a precious tradition since the two countries established their relationship. The visit of Vice Speaker of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai took on even more meaning on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Algeria. 

The Algerian Ambassador added that he would continue to implement many practical and concrete solutions to strengthen the link between the two National Assemblies, promote bilateral trade cooperation, promote the signing of important trade agreements, actively connect and seek cooperation opportunities between localities so that the cooperative relationship between the two countries will become deeper and more practical, bringing mutual benefits to the two peoples.
